The Luxembourg Centre for Contemporary and Digital History (C²DH) is the University of Luxembourg’s interdisciplinary research center dedicated to the study of contemporary history with a strong focus on digital methods and public history. As a leading hub for digital humanities, the C²DH combines historical research with cutting-edge digital tools to explore new forms of knowledge production, dissemination, and engagement. Its mission is to promote innovative research, open access to historical sources, and critical reflection on the use of digital technologies in the study of the recent past.

Web2Learn is a Greek R&D company specializing in open and citizen science, professional training and social innovation. Since 2014, Web2Learn has successfully co-initiated, designed and implemented over 50 EU-funded projects, most of them Erasmus+ KA2. Web2Learn promotes openness in digital education through citizen engagement and strong European partnerships. Web2Learn is the conceptual leader of AISTER.

In the AISTER project, UL is represented by the Digital Humanities Group and the University of Latvia Library, both contributing expertise in digital cultural heritage, citizen science, and interdisciplinary research.

Europeana is the EU’s digital platform for cultural heritage, providing free access to over 59 million digitized items—including artworks, books, music, films, and 3D objects—from more than 4,000 cultural institutions across Europe. Launched in 2008, it empowers educators, researchers, creatives, and the public to explore and reuse Europe’s rich cultural history. It is managed by the Europeana Foundation and is a key part of the EU’s efforts to digitally transform the cultural heritage sector.
